Sienna & Matt

March, 14th 2026 in Whangapoua, New Zealand

On the 14th of March 2026, Sienna and Matthew celebrated their wedding at his family’s property in Taupo. It was a day that felt like a modern fairytale, balancing deep, poetic roots with an effortless, lively energy.
The morning began in a beautiful Airbnb where Sienna got ready with her girls. There was a quiet, emotional build-up as she stepped into her dress: a piece hand-sewn by Brianna, leading to a tearful first look with her bridesmaids. Not long after, she shared a private moment with her father, who had flown over from the States, for a first look outside in the greenery.

The ceremony took place in the backyard, transformed into a woodland dream with green fabrics draped through the trees. The atmosphere was thick with nostalgia; guests were dressed in a style reminiscent of another era. As a writer who loves poetry, Sienna’s vows were a highlight: deeply personal and incredibly moving.

Once the "I dos" were done, the mood shifted into a spirited celebration. The cocktail hour was wonderfully chaotic and full of laughter. Sienna’s friends brought the energy, at one point even creating a human cocktail tower, while Sienna herself relaxed with grapes and champagne. The spread was just as aesthetic, incredible cheeses and appetizers that led into a reception in the tent, where every detail was curated, down to the pears placed on each plate and a grand cake adorned with fresh fruit.

Just before sunset, we escaped the crowd. We took a buggy up the hill overlooking the property to capture those epic, moody frames against the fading light. It was that rare, quiet pocket of time where they could just be together, away from the noise. We returned as the speeches began under the cover of night, capturing those final, heartfelt words before the evening truly took hold.

Take a moment, grab a drink, and step back into it. It’s the first time reliving these moments, and they always hit a little differently once the dust has settled.
